# 1.2 Staking with Founder nodes

#### 1.2 Staking with Founder Nodes

Participation in Cashtap Nodes requires users to stake **$vCASH** tokens, the vested form of **$CASH**. This token serves as the cornerstone for staking, earning rewards, and engaging in the network's governance processes.

* **Delegates**: Users who operate Founder Nodes are referred to as delegates. To run a Founder Node, delegates must stake a minimum of **10 million $vCASH**. Their primary responsibilities include validating data and ensuring the network’s reliability and performance.
* **Stakers**: Users who choose not to operate a Founder Node can delegate their **$vCASH** to existing Founder Nodes. By doing so, they contribute to the network's stability and earn a share of the rewards proportional to the amount of **$vCASH** they have staked.

This dual-participation system fosters accessibility, encourages decentralization, and strengthens the overall reliability of the Cashtap ecosystem.
