# 1.7 Becoming a Delegate

To become a delegate and run your own Foundernode, you need to stake a significant amount of $vCASH (at least 10 million $vCASH). Delegates are responsible for maintaining the node’s operation, ensuring it stays online, and validating data for the platform. As a delegate, you earn a portion of the rewards generated by your Founder Node, as well as a 10% fee from the rewards staked by others who delegate their tokens to your node.
