# 1.8 Participating in Network Governance

As a $vCASH holder, you also participate in the governance of the Cashtap network. This means you can vote on key decisions related to protocol upgrades, reward distribution, and other important network changes. The Genesis Governance structure ensures that all token holders have a say in how the network evolves.
